Kristina Seier

Kristina Seier (she/they), LMSW, is the Member Education & Grants Initiatives Specialist at the Iowa Medical Society (IMS). She manages grants focused on maternal health services and health equity to benefit all Iowans. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Iowa Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and works to support the health and well-being of the children and families of Iowa.

Her professional journey has predominantly focused on child welfare, encompassing direct service roles at various adolescent inpatient and residential facilities across Iowa; and family-centered services, supporting families affected by child abuse and neglect. Kristina is actively engaged in advocacy work as part of the CAMHI4Kids, Mind the Gap Iowa for maternal services, the Iowa Hunger Coalition, and One Iowa.

Outside of work, Kristina loves spending her time outdoors, whether she's gardening, hiking, kayaking, or swimming. She enjoys reading a good book, especially psychological thrillers, and tending to the needs of her two cats, Franklin and Mary.
